What we are trying to build
A personal knowledge graph you can open in a browser tab: capture meetings and voice notes, write with a real editor, track people and tasks, share when you choose, and ask questions across it all.
Why we started
We kept hitting the same gaps
In our own work we found pieces of the answer everywhere, and the whole answer nowhere. There are great bot-free notetakers that keep meetings natural. We liked that. We did not love how they handled tasks, personal relationships, things that were not meetings, work-email gates, or other limits that made the tool feel smaller than the job.
Then there are tools like Notion: excellent for structured writing and organization, weaker when you want fast recording and transcription, sometimes expensive, and often heavier than a tab you can open anywhere.
What we wanted was a hybrid. Something between a light personal CRM and a living personal knowledge graph. Something that takes notes in meetings, transcribes and summarizes, and still gives you a Notion-style editor with slash commands for clean, formatted writing. Share when it helps. Organize freely. Ask questions across the connected data. And skip the install-and-approval obstacle course.
The goal
The lightest useful version of this whole category
Note editor. Meeting and voice capture. Transcription and summaries. Personal CRM. Personal knowledge graph. Ask across it. As much of that as possible from a single browser tab, on any device or OS you already use.
Open Grafite. Sign in. Start recording your first meeting or voice note in about thirty seconds. That is the bar. If core work needs a lengthy install or a procurement maze, we have already lost.
We will keep shipping optional apps when users need capabilities the browser cannot provide well (today that includes a Mac desktop helper for system audio). Browser-first stays the rule: the web app is where the product lives, and where you can always get back to your graph.

In practice
Capture, connect, ask
Hit record. Grafite captures audio, transcribes it, summarizes it, pulls out action items, tracks people in the room, and files the note so it stays searchable and linked. Over time that becomes your personal professional graph: not a second job of CRM hygiene.
Write freely in a rich editor when you need more than a transcript. Organize notes, share selected content with people you choose, and keep private what should stay private.
Then ask. "What did we decide about pricing?" "When did I last meet with Sarah?" "What are my open action items from this week?" Answers come from your data, with citations.
How we build
Principles we try to keep honest
Browser-first
Core Grafite lives in a browser tab. Sign in, hit record, and you are capturing a meeting or voice note in about thirty seconds. We also ship an optional Mac desktop app (and more platforms over time) for capabilities users ask for, like system audio with headphones. Optional extras never replace the web app as the home base.
Privacy-conscious
No meeting bots. We do not train on your content. We do not sell your data to third parties. You choose when to share notes with others. Recording and AI processing run in the cloud through enterprise APIs with no training retention. Export everything or purge your account yourself whenever you want.
AI-powered
We use strong AI for transcription, summaries, and asking questions across your notes, people, and tasks. AI is the engine, not the product. The product is helping you remember what mattered and keep your work connected.
Personal by design
Your account is yours. The knowledge graph you build (meetings, relationships, decisions, voice notes, tasks) stays under your control. It should travel with you across jobs, devices, and years.
Bootstrapped and honest
We are a small, self-funded indie team. No venture theater. No sneaky data games to grow at any cost. We are here to build a good product for users and a good company for the people who work on it.
Beyond the product
Do good work for users and for people on the team
There are many paths to a useful knowledge tool, and plenty of lessons still ahead. We want passionate people on the ride with us: customers who tell us where it breaks, and teammates who care about craft.
Above the feature list, the mission is to be a good company. Good to customers. Good to employees. We are not here to optimize for imaginary shareholders at the expense of either. Users and the people building Grafite come first.
