Getting Started
What is Grafite?
Grafite is an AI-powered personal knowledge tool that records, transcribes, and summarizes meetings and voice notes, plus tracks people, manages tasks, offers a rich note editor, and lets you ask questions across your data. It is browser-first: core features work in a tab. An optional desktop app adds system audio, system-wide dictation into Slack and other apps, and compact quick notes or voice notes.
Is Grafite free?
Grafite Core is free forever. Grafite Cloud is free for a limited time. No credit card required.
Is there an iOS app?
Yes. Grafite is a native iOS app for iPhone and iPad, using the same account as the web app. Sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Apple. Native capture uses the microphone; it does not capture Zoom/Meet audio that is routed only to headphones. Help: grafite.io/support
Do I need the desktop app?
No. Most of Grafite works in the browser and in the iOS app. The optional desktop app adds system audio for headphone calls, system-wide dictation into other apps, and compact quick notes or voice notes from anywhere.
How do I get started?
Sign up with Google, Microsoft, or Apple in about 30 seconds. Connect your calendar if you want, and you're ready to start recording meetings or creating voice notes.
Can I use Grafite on my phone?
Yes. Grafite is a native iOS app for iPhone and iPad, with microphone recording that can continue when the screen is locked. You can also use the full web app in Safari or any modern browser. The optional Mac desktop app is still the way to capture system audio when you wear headphones on a call.
How do I delete my account?
Sign in, open Settings → Danger Zone, and choose Delete Account. We email a verification code first. Export your data from Settings → Data & Privacy beforehand if you want a copy.
You can also email support@grafite.io. Uninstalling the iOS app does not delete your account. Full instructions: grafite.io/support
Recording & Transcription
Does Grafite work with Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams?
Yes. Grafite records audio directly from your device, so it works with any meeting platform: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack huddles, and even in-person meetings. No plugins or extensions needed.
How accurate is the transcription?
Grafite uses advanced AI speech-to-text models to deliver near-human-level transcription accuracy. Results depend on audio quality, but in typical meeting scenarios the accuracy is excellent.
What meeting platforms are supported?
Any platform you can hear through your device. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack, phone calls, and in-person meetings are all supported, no integrations or plugins required.
How does recording work without a bot?
Grafite captures audio directly from your browser. No bot joins the call, no extra participant in the attendee list, no extension to install. The meeting stays natural and undisrupted.
What if I use headphones during meetings?
When using headphones, remote participants' audio goes directly to your ears and isn't picked up by the microphone. To capture the full conversation, install the Grafite desktop app from Settings → Desktop App, it captures system audio directly regardless of your audio output.

AI Summaries & Ask Grafite
What do AI summaries include?
Grafite's AI summaries extract key decisions, action items, discussion highlights, and follow-ups from your meetings. You can customize the format with templates for different meeting types like standups, 1:1s, and client calls.
Can I customize the summary format?
Yes. Grafite includes multiple summary templates optimized for different meeting types. The AI adapts its output format based on the template you choose, so you always get the most useful structure for each meeting.
What is Ask Grafite?
Ask Grafite is your conversational AI assistant. You can ask plain-English questions across all your notes, meetings, tasks, and people, like "What did we decide about the pricing change?" or "When did I last meet with Sarah?", and get instant answers with citations.
Features & Capabilities
Does Grafite work with my calendar?
Yes. Grafite connects to Google Calendar, Microsoft Calendar (Outlook), and Apple Calendar (iCloud). Your meetings sync automatically, and you can join calls directly from the Grafite agenda view.
How does task management work?
Action items extracted from your meetings flow into a built-in task manager with kanban boards, lists, due dates, and priorities. Everything stays connected to the meeting it came from, so context is always one click away.
Will Grafite replace my existing note-taking app?
Grafite can replace multiple tools at once: your meeting recorder, note app, task manager, and people tracker. Most users find they no longer need separate tools for each of these.
Can transcription or dictation stay on my computer?
Yes for speech. Choose On device in Settings → Intelligence for meeting transcription and dictation. Summaries and Ask Grafite still use Grafite’s cloud today. More of the product is moving on-device over time. Details: grafite.io/support/on-device
How does people tracking work?
Grafite automatically builds a people directory from your calendar meetings. You can see your full meeting history with any contact, their company, and your shared conversations, so you always have context before your next call.
Can I switch from another tool to Grafite?
Yes, just sign up and start using Grafite alongside your existing tools. Core Grafite is browser-based, so you can start without an install. You can transition gradually at your own pace.
Can I dictate into Slack, email, or Google Docs?
Yes. The Grafite desktop app includes system-wide dictation. Press a shortcut, speak, and text is inserted into Slack, Mail, Gmail, Google Docs, Notion, Word, issue trackers, and other apps you already type in. Quick notes and voice notes save into Grafite instead. Details: grafite.io/features/dictation
What is a personal Knowledge Graph in Grafite?
It is the connected web of your meetings, voice notes, people, companies, tasks, and written notes. Grafite builds it as you work, then lets you search it and ask questions with citations. Learn more at grafite.io/features/personal-knowledge-graph.
Privacy & Security
Is my data private and secure?
Your recordings and notes are stored securely. By default they are only accessible to you. You can choose to share specific notes with others when you want to.
We do not train on your content or sell it to third parties. Meeting transcription and dictation can run on this computer when you choose On device. Summaries and Ask Grafite still use Grafite’s cloud today. Details: grafite.io/support/on-device
What about data ownership?
Your data is yours. Period. Your account is tied to your personal login. You can export your data or purge your account through self-service whenever you want. Your personal Knowledge Graph stays under your control.
Is my Grafite account tied to my company?
No, your Grafite account is personal, tied to your own login. Your notes, recordings, and people directory are always accessible to you, regardless of where you work.
Does Grafite use meeting bots?
No. Grafite does not send a bot into your calls. Capture happens from your side of the conversation so the meeting stays natural.
Pricing & Plans
Will Grafite always be free?
Grafite Core is free forever. Grafite Cloud is free for a limited time.
Early adopters will be grandfathered into a number of features. Grafite retains the right to reserve premium, costly cloud features for paid plans, but we strive to provide as much Core and Cloud functionality as possible for free.
Will there be team or enterprise plans?
Yes, we're designing team and enterprise plans with shared workspaces, team-level features, and admin controls. Reach out to support@grafite.io if you're interested in early access.
Are there any usage limits?
Grafite Core on your Mac is not metered like a cloud quota. Cloud is free for a limited time, with fair-use limits to prevent abuse.
How does pricing compare to other tools?
Most meeting recorders charge $20-30/month for capture and cloud transcription. Grafite Core is free forever. Grafite Cloud is free for a limited time.
